"Oh you have less than 3 GPA? Allah Malik hai tumhara" Have you ever heard that and gotten demotivated? I used to feel the same. Until now, when I realized GPA does NOT guarantee success. Studying is important. It teaches you learning skills, discipline, presentation skills. But it's fine to be average in class AFTER your best attempt. I had a 2.7 in my BSc (LUMS). I studied, but I also focused on extra curriculars: As a 20 year old kid, I represented my university and country twice in dramatics competitions in Germany, led teams of 100s of ppl to manage DramaFest (Pakistan's biggest student drama festival), handled crisis, got sponsors, engaged teams, inspired teams, tasted defeat and then learned how to rise again. Acted in front of 1000s of ppl, learned self confidence by directing and acting and running meetings. Most importantly, I built a network. Did all the things that most ppl might term "waste of time" Today, I work with one of the best organizations in Pakistan, Engro Energy Limited. Getting bad grades isnt the end of the world. It might be a setback, but it's not a defeat. Similarly, a bad job today doesnt mean a bleak future. Keep trying. You are unique and you CAN DO IT!!
Whenever you call someone for an interview, please ask their current package on call rather he would appear in an interview and come to know that you are offering even less then his / her current salary.
Please be open on calls.
It just happened to me, picked my profile from somewhere and called.
I asked for the package and they replied its open sir, wherever the negotian would end it would be provided.
Before going to the interview i called and told them my current package just to remind them and they said "sir we cant offer more than that not even equal to your current package".
It was wierd, thank God i dint waste my time.

Rings a bell? Well, fyi, noone at workplace can misbehave with you or disrespect/humiliate you. Ppl often think harrasment is only of sexual in nature. No!
Harassment covers a wide range of behaviors of an offensive nature. It is commonly understood as behavior that demeans, humiliates or embarrasses a person, and it is characteristically identified by its unlikelihood in terms of social and moral reasonableness. In the legal sense, these are behaviors that appear to be disturbing, upsetting or threatening.
Pakistan's harrasment laws indicate that every company needs to have trained harrasment committee that can address complaints like these. Any committee that doesnt satisfy the complainant, can be reported to Mohtasib or the company can be sued as well. It's the company's responsibility to ensure a harrasment free workplace.
Stop living in fear and dont let your self respect fade for a monthly salary.
Interviewer: What is your salary expectation?
Candidate: I am getting 22k so my expectation is 30k.
Interviewer: We can give you 25k max.
Candidate[After thinking]: I will accept this proposal.
Interviewer: Resign your job asap!
Now the candidate resigns his job and joined immediately but HR doesn’t issue him offer letter by making many excuses.
On the salary day, He got only 22K Rupees in his account.
Candidate: Sir, As we discussed, my salary is 25K then why I got this amount.
Interviewer: That was your gross salary and this is your in-hand salary.
Tip- Join the company after getting an offer letter or LOI where your salary has been mentioned.
Agree?
The reason you are pondering for a change is there is no longer challenge in your current job and you feel bored and unmotivated. You think you can separate your work from your life? No way! Your career is part of your life, your identity, a part of who you are and how you feel. For example when you wake up tomorrow and your boss said “You’re fired”, that will surely upset your whole life. So the fact that your career and life are knitted is one thing we must aware when facing life great challenges.
BOSS: You are late! Employee: It is only 8:10 am BOSS: Work starts at 8:00am. I will have to write you up for this.Employee: But I am not usually late. I left late plus I was up late finishing a report. Could you just let me off this one time?BOSS: We can't set this wrong precedent that it's okay to be late.Employee: Okay then, I am not taking anymore work home from now on. I will arrive on time and leave on time. Many managers never complain when employees go the extra mile but are quick to point out employees' shortfalls. You can't buy loyalty, but you can certainly foster and nurture it. Never Push Loyal Employees to the Point they no longer Care! Read full post here: https://lnkd.in/eDAbDyKAgree?
It is a dilemma, that candidate is using job offer letter as negotiation tool for current employers, it is unethical. If you don’t want to work please do not appear in an interview and don’t waste the time of Recruiters. If you want to negotiate you can negotiate with Recruiter as well, but not replying and keep your mobile on switch off mode is useless and will destroy your reputation as well. Agree or Disagree ...
THE ELEPHANT ROPE (BELIEF)
A gentleman was walking through an
elephant camp, and he spotted that the
elephants weren’t being kept in cages or
held by the use of chains.
All that was holding them back from escaping the camp, was a small piece of rope tied to one of their legs.
As the man gazed upon the elephants, he was completely confused as to why the elephants didn’t just use their strength to break the rope and escape the camp. They could easily have done so, but instead, they didn’t try to at all.
Curious and wanting to know the answer, he asked a trainer nearby why the elephants were just standing there and never tried to escape.
The trainer replied;
“when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”
The only reason that the elephants weren’t breaking free from the camp was that over time they adopted the belief that it just wasn’t possible.
Moral of the story:
No matter how much the world tries to hold you back, always continue with the belief that what you want to achieve is possible.

A short and tragic interview story!
He was an experienced Manager who had spend 15 years in the industry and had some strong accomplishments to his credit.
One recruiter approached him for a role SIMILAR to his current profile. He shared his thoughts on the role. Convinced with his understanding, hi profile was shared with the hiring manager. Interview was fixed.
A team of two interviewed him for the position and started with typical “Can you please take us through your profile”
He explained(Period). He did not mention one of the task that had high priority on their checklist.
Sorry, I think the recruiter had not understood the requirement. We need a person who is Hands on with XYZ skill.
He tried explaining them that he had a team to manage the task and he understands the function but....
It was over in less than 5 mins...
Eventually both, the candidate and interview panel wasted their time.
Wish,
Recruiter had done the screening better
Candidate had tried understanding the requirement better
Interview Panel, instead of ticking the line items were more open to evaluate the skills/abilities required
What do you think? Oleg Vishnepolsky, Vartika Agarwal, Mark Sefaradi, MMH Beg
Employee (talking to the HR Manager): I have been working for this company for the past 10 years now.
HR Manager: yeah, that is a long time!
Employee: not once have I been offered any internal or external training.
HR Manager: me too! I have been working here for the past 12 years now and no one has offered me any training. I pay for my own training from my own pocket to keep up to date.
Employee: you are lucky. You have a good salary that allows you to do so. I am barely surviving.
HR Manager: stop complaining and go to work!
Employee: don't you think that training is a right? Shouldn't there be a yearly allocated budget for training? I am scoring 95% in my employee performance review! Don't you think that I deserve training and this to be able develop and improve in my works?
HR Manager: no one deserves anything! It is up to the management and there is no such budget in this company. As I told you, never open this subject with me again. It really disturbs me!
Employee: as you wish!
Sadly, many ISO certified employers never offer any internal or external training to their workers (white collar or blue collar). This goes against the ISO certification.
Sometimes I wonder: how are such employers being ISO certified?
I guess that one pays and gets certified. That is it!
I attended a Party recently, with a gathering of about 300 people and sat in the front row.
A Lady started distributing snacks from the back row and unfortunately, it didn't get to us sitting in the front row.
Another Lady started handing out Drinks, from the front row. But, by then, I had already moved to the Back row. and, so, the drink didn't get to me.
I was irritated and stood up to leave.
But, then, I saw three ladies each with A Big Bowl of vegetable Manchurian dry. This time, I tried to be Wise by sitting in the Middle row. One of the Ladies started the sharing from the Front, and the second Lady started distributing from the back. When they got to the middle row where I was seated, it got over again!
Feeling frustrated, I bent my head, putting my Face in My Hands.
But, then, the third Lady tapped me and held out her Bowl.
I stretched out my Hand and guess what was in the Bowl?
Toothpicks!!!
Moral: Don’t try to Position yourself in Life. If you are doing your best, then, good things will come to you automatically sooner or later.
Otherwise, you will wrongfully position yourself for Toothpicks Only!!!!
My father called me several times to visit him as i was working 250 kms away from my home. It was a very critical situation in the organization where i was working fifteen years ago. We were moving from paperful office to paperless office. The task was completely on my head and i was determined to complete it. I was skipping the opportunity to meet my father on weekends too. I was telling my father that if i am not there in the office, my boss and work will suffer. After completion of the task, i booked the ticket for Sankaranthi. The day i met him he was lying down without speech and movement. He was no more there to talk to me. In the midst of being loyal to my job, i lost a precious person in my life. Yesterday, i completed his 15th year ceremony. I don't know what he wanted to talk to me. But i understood one thing that there will always be work in the office and it is endless. You may get another job and boss but beloved ones? Create memories with the family members when ever you get an opportunity.
The INTERVIEW was not going well. The candidate did not answer simple questions.
Then he said, "I am sorry, I understand you will hire someone else. You need the best candidate. I really needed this job. I dont know what I will tell my wife and kids. I have been looking for a long time, I applied to no less than 1,000 jobs. This was my first interview in last 6 months."
I said "You are the best candidate. Your resume and past track record are spectacular. You passed the technical interview with flying colours. My team would be really thrilled if you join us. And as far as I am concerned, you just passed the personal interview with flying colours too. Honesty, tenacity and modesty...
The best qualities in any team but particularly for a QA manager."

CV is not Resume!!!
.
Oh yes! I repeat “CV is not Resume!!!”
Because we use both interchangeably often times without any correction doesn’t mean they are the same!
Hey wait!......don’t crucify me yet!
Here’s the difference
“Curriculum Vitae” is a Latin word meaning “course of life”.
CVs are in-depth chronological documents that contains an individuals FULL working career
This should include a high level details about one’s achievements, accomplishments, education, awards, honors, publications and so on.
A CV may spread beyond 2 pages.
While a Resume is a SUMMARY and CONCISE document of at most 2 pages.
The Resume is usually prepared to fit every position applied for.
A quick summary difference
??A CV is intended to be a FULL record of one’s career history
??Resume is a brief, targeted list of skills & achievement.
??CVs are prepared ONCE and that same document can be used to apply for any position.
??Resume can be tailored to fit each position applied for
??A CV can be lengthy depending on ones achievement and length of experience
??Resumes should be brief, it is advisable not to cross a 2 page length
Although there are preferences to which should be used in different parts of the world

I resign. Please consider this as my two weeks notice.
Manager - Why? What happened?
"I found a great opportunity that aligns with my career goals"
Manager - Will you reconsider? We spent a lot of time and resources to get you where you are today and you are going to leave us? How much did they offer you?
"15K more and I can work remote a day or two from home"
The manager has already emailed HR on the backend to let them know what's happening and how to retain the employee? They check budget, headcount etc.
Then an hour later the manager replies - if it's 15K and remote work. We can match it and give you an additional week of vacation.
"Can I think about it?"
Manager - Yes, but will need an answer by tomorrow.
The Employee is left in a tough place, feeling guilty and alone. Reconsider and accept a counteroffer. Or Do I go on and pursue this opportunity?
Who to trust? What shall I do?
To my horror most accept the counteroffer, the pressure and the guilt trip proves too much. The fear they put in your head.
NEVER just accept a counteroffer - Evaluate- it never works out - your loyalty is in question.
Do you agree? What has been your experience?
"You are not stuck at home! You are safe at home"!

#Intimate_Relationship: The ultimate way to form healthy relationships course!
I HIRED a candidate whose manager did not give her a good recommendation.
Here is why.
When I called the manager, she didn’t give me any substantial reasons. She was not happy that the employee would question decisions.
From the interview, I could tell the candidate possessed strong leadership skills and she was a realist. Her manager saw her as a threat, and "managed out" this employee.
She turned out to be an excellent employee that had so much to contribute. It was one of the best hiring decisions I ever made.
If you want the company and yourself as a leader to grow, don't surround yourself with only "yes men" employees. Groupthink will sink the ship!
Sadly, many managers prefer to be surrounded by loyalists and sycophants rather than realists.
Do you agree?
Since past 2 months I have been applying a new method of recruitment which have been proven successful in my company. Which is as follows
1) Shortlist candidates that could be hired and call them for interview
2) Ask them behavioral and situational questions instead of knowledge based questions for assessment, 3 to 4 questions at max
3) At the end of the interview, if he is not potential enough give them direct feedback instead of drama "we will let you know if you are shortlisted"
4) Salary + Office Situations + Working Conditions + other policies should be conveyed on the spot after the interview
5) Tell candidates straight forward what you require out of them and if they are willing to join they can email you with if they are "interested". PS: duration should not be more then 4 days for him to tell you.
6) Now the candidate has to decide if he wants to join or not based on your open conditions, thus you are saving your time and recruitment cost.
This gives an open edge to all for a win-win situation, and does not create any chaos where the candidate would poke you over and over again or where you have to ask the candidate if he wants to join or when he can join you people.
I am really glad that hashtag#students, hashtag#teachers and hashtag#institutions are taking the job market and employment really seriously,
Yesterday, I was called by students of Institute of Business Management for their class project of hashtag#mock_interview_session.
Overall my experience in all of these mock sessions has been that candidates now a days are really good with their knowledge part of KSA, the only area they lack is their skills, Abilities and Attitude, where hashtag#attitide is the 80% which is counted in Interview session.
Some other areas to consider are as below as of my personal observation for all students.
I was approached by a colleague who started a sales forum/community 03 years back and the platform has now grown into something where he aspires to establish separate wings of hashtag#executiverecruitment, hashtag#training, hashtag#professionalcertifications and hashtag#annualawardsseminars.
We spoke at length in presence of another gentleman who is a senior and gives me great regard. They wanted me to take charge of the training wing and make it into a profitable business. My colleague was sharing his hashtag#vision and hashtag#targets and I was listening patiently.
We decided to touch base again during this week and when I came home, I was loaded with hashtag#thoughts of whether to go for it or not. I preferred taking a nap but my hashtag#subconsciousmind was wide awake and repeatedly shouted at me that "Abdul, you are not supposed to live someone else's hashtag#dream. That is his hashtag#vision, his hashtag#dream. And you have yours too. If you wish to give your hashtag#time, hashtag#effort and hashtag#energy for someone else's hashtag#dream, then it is far better to give all that to your hashtag#dream, your hashtag#vision".
And when I woke up, I was absolutely clear that I would not work and live for someone else's dream.
Interviewer: Tell me about yourself
Candidate: Sure Sir. With no offense, can you please tell a bit about me?
Interviewer: What?
Candidate: Plz don't take me otherwise, I mean before calling me for interview you might have gone through my resume, so you are now aware a bit about me. I will tell about me beyond that, no point in repeating you already know
Interviewer: Being very busy, not read the resumes
Candidate: On what basis called me for #interview?
Interviewer: To save time selected 20 #resumes randomly. Now can select a suitable 1 out of them
Candidate: Do you know?
When you call 100 resumes for 1 post, 100 hopes are attached with. You have broken 80 hopes without giving any chance.
When you call 20 for interview, hopes of 20 families started taking birth
But you will ask 2-3 questions which you know and will reject them. But you don't know, that person know 10 things which are not known by you.
You are not willing to waste 10 minutes for 1 resume but can easily waste a full day of 20 people and hope of 100 families.
Thank You, Sir; I reject you and your company.
A humble request to all Interviewers, #CEO, #CFO - specify all major criteria of job, read resume properly.
Don't play with #hopes

The business executive was deep in debt and could see no way out. Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.
Suddenly an old man appeared before him.
“I can see that something is troubling you,” he said.
After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said,
“I believe I can help you.”
He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying,
“Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.”
Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.
The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!
“I can erase my money worries in an instant!”
He realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.
With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.
Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check.
At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.
“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried.
“I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller.”
And she led the old man away by the arm.
The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.
Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.
HR Manager wrote a love letter to his girlfriend!!
Ever wondered how a HR manager could write a love letter .
Dear Crush!
Sub: Offer of Love!
I am very happy to Inform you that I have fallen In love with you since the 12th of March (Thursday) with reference to the meeting held between us on the 11h of March (Wednesday) at 15:00hrs,
I would like to present myself as a prospective lover. Our love affair would be on probation for a period of three months and depending upon compatibility, it would be made permanent.
Upon completion of the probation, there will be a continuous on-the-job training and performance appraisal schemes leading up to promotion from lover to spouse. The expenses Incurred for coffee and entertainment would be initially shared equally between us. Later, based on your performance, I might take up a larger share of the expenses. However, I am broadminded enough to take care of your expenses account.
Request you to kindly respond within 7 days of receiving this letter, Failing which, this offer would be cancelled without further notice and I shall be
considering someone else. I would be happy, if you could forward this letter to your sister, if you do not wish to take up this offer.
Wish you all the best.
Thanking you In anticipation,
Yours sincerely
Do not speak about your money in front of a poor person. Do not speak about your health in front of a sick person. Do not speak about your power in front of a weak person. Do not speak about your happiness in front of a sad person. Do not speak about your freedom in front of a prisoner. Do not speak about your children in front of an infertile person. Do not speak about your mother and father in front of an orphan. Because their wounds cannot bear more.
Corporate rules for happy life:
1. Trust but keep your eyes open.
2. What happens in office, remain in office. Never take office gossips to home and vice versa.
3. Enter office on time, leave on time. Your desktop is not helping improvement in your health.
4. Never make GF/BF and/or brother/sister in office. It will always backfire.
5. Expect nothing. If somebody helps, feel thankful. If not, you will learn to know things on your own.
6. Never rush for position. If you get promoted, congrats. If not, it doesn't matter. You will always be remembered for your knowledge and politeness, not for your designation.
7. Never run behind office stuff. You have better things to do in life.
8. Avoid taking everything on your ego. Your salary matters. You are being paid. Use your assets to get happiness.
9. It doesn't matter how people treat you. Be humble. You are not everyone's cup of tea.
10. In the end nothing matters except family, friends, home, and Inner peace.
Never resign your job without an offer in your hands, I always advise this to the candidates. Emotional decisions affect not only us and also our family. If you have too much pressure in your job, you should speed-up your job-hunting process. Resigning is easy but it psychologically affects you if you dont get an another job maximum within a month. Sometimes, if you are able to withstand the pressure, you will be escalated to next level too. Crossing the fire is difficult. But once you crossed you are in higher position emotionally and also hierarchy wise.
ALWAYS TRY TO RESPOND EVEN IF YOU DON'T WANT TO
It is highly hashtag#unprofessional to not respond to someone who has reached us personally for something that is important to him or her. Even if we are busy and would not have time to share a detailed response, it is always good to at least reply with a small message.
I know we tend to receive hashtag#unsolicitedmessages as well but we could always gauge whom we could reply and whom we could ignore. If we cannot help someone, we should at least tell her or him that we cannot and direct him to the right hashtag#platforms.
We should remember that we could also fall in such a situation where we message or reach others and expect a simple reply at least.
hashtag#actofkindness hashtag#neverignore hashtag#alwaysreply hashtag#helpothers hashtag#humanity
Thank all of you who never fail to respond:
I worked with a boss who'd never hire a woman as a manager.
During his interview with one young lady, he asked her too many irrelevant questions.
This lady did well. Answered all questions and was even qualified for the role.
The boss kept finding faults in her.
"What's your ambition for the next five years?" He asked.
She politely answered him. Yet the boss wasn't satisfied.
He disqualified her and hired a man who was less qualified than this brilliant lady.
I was present during the interview session. I wasn't impressed with the gender discrimination. After the interview, I asked him why he had done that.
He said women are too fragile. They break down quickly and cannot handle pressure.
They are always emotional.
I shook my head in disagreement. This is a man who was married.
Women are a magnificent creature and a gift to the world.
Besides, this young lady is qualified.
I couldn't do anything. After two years, the man he hired made bad decisions for his company, and he folded up.The lady he rejected scaled a company she joined from a start-up into fortune 500 companies. She won several awards.
I heard my ex-boss now works under someone.
If you judge people's success based on gender, you are still ignorant.
No one chooses his gender, but everyone is human.

“A retired MD of a bank came to a branch in his city where nobody recognised him, as the branch is run by new generation people.
He introduced and identified himself as Ex-MD of the same Bank.
One of the employees of that branch curiously asked him, "how is life after retirement"?
The Ex-MD said, "I have realised that after the chess game is over, the King and the Soldiers are kept in the same box".
Moral: Positions, designation, titles are all temporary. Be humble and down to earth and gain respect which is permanent.
Few years back, I faced a huge problem of Employee Retention.
Employees were leaving our firm after serving merely 1-2 years, and for us it was totally not acceptable as per company strategy.
An average employee at that point of time costed us around 1 Million PKR/employee/year. We sat down all worried, in a hope to turn things around. Many suggestions were floated. My teacher suggested:
''Nouman, give them respect, authority within their domain & take care of their financial needs. As a result they will take care of the organization and will not leave. May Allah bless him for what he taught me.
Everything was re-evaluated. Salaries were revised, Bonuses doubled, health facility was introduced for entire family, paid holidays were given for family vacations, P.F started, they were involved in organizational planning and strategic think tank, etc.
And guess what happened, within 6 months, the turnover rate went down to zero, yes literally 100 percent Retention rate, for the first time in 4 decades since inception. The Job Satisfaction touched 90 percent mark.
And it was all inspired from Hazrat Omar r.a management principle of paying salaries above market rate to retain talent.
Ps: Pay Well to get Well. Anything spent on Employees is an investment, and will definitely pay back
Candidate is 15 mints late. HR manager says cross him off. After 30 mints he arrives and his clothes are wet. He said their was an accident on main road so he got out from Taxi and walk and ran and part of the way and it was heavily raining.
I did not bother to interview. I got him a cup of coffee and told him, you are hired, go home and get some dry clothes. He already had very good resume and if he had showed so much heart, I want him to be part of my team. He ended up being top performer of my team.
This is life, things happens. At times we let candidate waiting too. May be candidate did not look the part or was not confident, does not mean that he was not qualified for job.
If you want best candidate, stop looking for perfection. It does not exist. Focus on what value a person can bring. Look for passion and potential. An inflexible checklist makes many organizations to loose promising candidates.
Please share your thoughts.
She burst into tears during the interview. She was nervous. It was written all over her face.
A young woman applied for a web developer position.
We invited her with other candidates who showed interest.
We asked her some questions, but she couldn't answer.
Instead, she was giving a panic response. Relax, I told her.
I sat back and had barely said anything else when she burst into tears.
The young lady said, "I knew I'd not do well. I wasn't prepared, but I need the job."
My partner became unease about the situation and said, "This is unacceptable & unprofessional. Next person please."
"Hold on" I interrupted.
I asked her what is going on. She opened up, and we discovered.
-She left her previous job to support her sick mom. She has been in the hospital since last year.
-Became a freelancer, earning meagre money to survive
-Came directly from the hospital, absolutely under pressure to perform well so that she can get the job.
"Can I see your portfolio?" I asked.
She showed us her extensive portfolio.
We looked into it and saw great work she had done. I told her "family first" go and take care of your mom. We will let you know soon.
Soon enough, we called and gave her the job.
Sometimes things only require common sense and not protocols.

Today I had scheduled interview + test for the position of Content Writer for one of my client at 4pm. Guess what? no one showed up. now I request to you all people hashtag#youth
Please don't complain that there are no jobs in market, or the companies are hiring only on basis of reference (Internal Hiring), please don't, and do not even say anything about the HR of any organization. Why? so here is why
1) Because of you people we have to work over time and have to face our bosses and clients.
2) You never show up on time, never project good attitude, have high demands from us, therefore we will only hire people who we at-least know will join, not people for whom we arrange everything but even then they do not join.
3) You never know what we people go through, how much tough time we face, how many bad words and worse situations we have to go through.
4) when you people don't show up, its you who have broken our trust from external hiring, not us who willingly want to hire people internally.
there is much more to say but I feel that I should stop here.
To all hashtag#recruiters if you agree with me, please like, and it is also requested to share your views and experiences in comments as well.

Once, A lady with her family was staying in a 3-star hotel for a picnic.
She was the mother of a 6 month old baby.
"Can I get 1 cup of milk?" asked the lady to the 3-star hotel manager.
"Yes madam", He replied, "But it will cost you money."
"No problem", Said the lady.
While driving back from hotel, The child was hungry again.
They stopped at a road side tea stall and took milk from the tea vendor.
How much?”
She asked the tea vendor
"Madam, We don't charge money for kid's milk",
The old man said with a smile.
"Let me know if you need more for the journey"
The lady took one more cup and left.
She wondered, "Who’s richer ?
The hotel manager or the old tea vendor ?

It was said by Luqman al-Hakeem, ''If someone comes to you with a broken eye in hand and blame the other person, do not believe until u hear other side of the story, it is possible that he has damaged both eyes of the other.
I was serving as an HR Consultant for a firm, when on one instance, the board of directors, ''ordered'' to end services of one Senior General Manager, for leaking some confidential information to a competitor. As per his previous record with the company and all the interactions, with him, i was dead sure that he cannot do this, but there was a strong lobby in the organization, who already had build the case against him, anyhow i convinced the management to give me 2 days for a personal session with him. Initially hesitant but they gave the permission.
And it was all surprises once i talked to him. He was never approached by anyone for his clarification on the matter. he took oath that he cannot even imagine to betray the organization. Anyhow phone recordings were retrieved & other evidences proved his innocence, and we found the real culprit.
This man then did wonders, he launched the biggest consumer campaign in the history of the company and we passed the 900 Million Sales Target just due to him.
Always listen to ''OTHER SIDE OF THE STORY''.
Dear #jobseekers, sending incomplete emails to employers is never going to help you in any case. Attaching your CV in an email without any subject and empty email body is going to give you more harm than a benefit.
The carelessness with which you apply to positions is then reciprocated by employers in dealing with your job application. Result - 'Trash bin'.
Do you think the recruiters/employers have enough time to figure out the purpose of your email without any proper message attached to it?
A well written email with a language conveying your message in the best possible manner is the first step to build your Professional Impression - Do not lose it.
Around 6 Months Ago i started an Online Course for individuals who wanted to start or enhance their Professional Career in UAE. My experience of being a Certified HR Practitioner for UAE and being working in UAE helped me to design the course as per the latest local market HR needs. I tried to provide all the basic insights to the first batch so that they can avoid the common mistakes, which 70-75 percent of others are committing, resulting in wastage of Money, Energy & Time.
So the amazing news is that i started with a batch of 10 students [as mentioned it was a free course for first 10 applicants], consisting a mix of fresh graduates, mid level employees and 2 C-Level Executives from Pakistan.
Alhumdulillah 6 out of 10 have landed good jobs, 2 are waiting for their final interviews after passing initial stage , and remaining 2 have got MS Bus. Info Management Scholarships in Middlesex University Dubai, as they opted for this option.
Most Satisfying for me: Above all one of the student got Job in a Govt. Energy firm and they are bringing a Project of 100 Million USD Oil Project to Gwadar Pakistan, and he will be their Country Head.
He came for the interview wearing an un-ironed shirt and trousers with a pair of dirty shoes.
He sat in the corner and was watching the hustle and bustle in front of him with a pair of astonished eyes behind his inexpensive glasses. Never for once he requested for pushing his number up the interview queue which the others were doing.
Finally at around six in the evening, his number came. We had more or less finalized the people selected by then. He entered the interview room and handed over a single page CV in four folds. My co-interviewer smiled, looking at it as if it was going to be a complete waste of time.
But we had to ask a few questions and so we did. Boy-o-boy each answer he gave started hitting us like bullets. The interview went on for one and half hours. Sometimes we smiled and sometimes we looked like fools in front of him.
It turned out that he came from a very poor background and his father was a farmer. No one tought him how to present himself decently for an interview. He was working for a small company and handled everything single handedly. He loved technology and spent 12 to 14 hours a day learning and doing experiments on his own.
Obviously he got the job, but also taught me a lesson - 'Look beyond the CV, you never know what you might discover.

INTERVIEWING:
Yesterday, I was speaking with someone in HR, who is part of the interview panel in her workplace. She said one of the candidates stated in the closing of the job interview, that he felt like it was an interrogation session. I asked her to list some of the questions and based on this, I had to agree with him. Grilling a candidate with unreasonable questions is not an interview. An interview is a two-way street. You are interviewing candidates to hire and not humiliate.
It's sad that some interviewers have an attitude of superiority. Being an interviewer is not just a title but it is a responsibility. You are deciding the career of an individual. Put yourself in the candidates' shoes. A little respect and empathy goes a long way.
It’s time to put back the "HUMAN" in Human resources!
I feel sad to see people been rejected due to the gap in careers.
Majority of the people I interviewed in this case had a genuine reasons like break from work to take care of their new born, marriages, Father/ Mother/ any near or dear one hospitalised, accidents, no jobs or opportunity at that moment etc.
You can’t penalize a person based on these or any genuine reason.
I always suggest the decision makers to reject the candidates on the basis of skills, fitment or attitude.
But not on the reasons like career gaps, overage, overqualified, physical appearance, not from a reputed college or institute etc.
Sometimes all we need is a second chance.
What’s your opinion on this? Do you agree?
Wearing simple kurta shalwar and topi (typical maulvi looks), I entered BlueEast Ltd. on January 14, 2017 for my initial interview for my first job. I was stunned to see the glamorous office where I was also depressed because in many previous interviews with a lot of software houses, I was told "due to your attire we are not able to go along with you for the position". Well, I gave the interview and inspite of having great technical interview, I went back with no hope due to the attire.
1st February 2017, It was my first day at BlueEast Ltd. Time went smoothly and I started wearing Imama (Turban), working as a software developer. I used to ask my HR manager that how is it so fine that I come in this type of attire and there is no objection. He told me that our CEO, Mian Abdul Rehman Talat, respects everybody with their chosen attire and Sunnah dress. It is not an issue to him. It moved me too much.
Being in the company, my father had a very severe heart-attack and company, in my initial days, lessened my working hours from 8 to 6 so I could visit my father daily. And they also arranged conveyance for this. It has been more than a year that I have been BlueEast Ltd. and these things keep circulating in my mind that how amazing was my first job, first boss and first office..
One of my connection has a bad experience at LinkedIn.
He is seeking your opinions. Please read and provide suggestions, he believes that your opinions can help address this matter.
... A lady has made a controversial post on LinkedIn and she asked for feedback and comments. The connections started commenting and his friend jump as well in the discussion. He tried to explain the positive side of that controversial subject and did his best to convey the not negative side.
Surprisingly, that lady turn out to be aggressive and she deleted his comments and only kept few comments from top HR professionals who remained in her support for the post.
The question now is at one side people ask their members / connections for feedback, they take their time out and share thoughts but such a happening is demoralizing and disrespectful.
If you have posted something in return for a feedback and opinions then be prepared for any feedback you will be provided with but you are deleting the comments which is not a decent approach! ...

What suggestions do you have for her? She will be happy to hear.
A big request to all the candidates who are holding an offer and not joining after accepting it. Please inform HR a few days before joining. No one is going to send you behind the bar. It's your personal decision but something called ethics & courtesy, which we should all maintain in the same way. The day of joining you cannot come up with Hey! I am not joining (with hundreds of reasons) this is just not acceptable.

I got rejected in lots of interviews and failed miserably in finding a suitable job.
I made over 20 copies of my resume and gave 20 interviews in less than 10 days but I got no feedback from HR.
No one wants to give a job to a 12th pass fresher.
But later, one of the senior HR helped me to get a job by sharing my resume in her circle and finally I got a job.
When I thanked her for what she did for me, she said, “I didn't help you just to hear you say “thank you”. I helped you and I need a favor on the return of it.
I was shocked, and I asked her what kind of favor do you need?
She replied, "You don't need to do anything for me, but you have to help jobseekers to find a job and help them in their tough times as I did for you."
I requested all the HR and recruiters to help the job seekers and give them proper feedback because by doing so, you are not just helping an individual; instead, you are helping a family.
Even I am also trying to help job seekers if you are looking for job change comment your profile below.
If you are a recruiter then comment back to the job seekers and help them to land on a job.

His answer was: I was told during my university classes that once you've committed on a meeting, SHOW UP. Tell them you're not available but end it at a positive note. You never know how industries are linked and reputations matter in market. You never know, my next big break after 2 years would be here again. I also came to thank you for your investment of time and interest in me.
Lesson for Employees: once you have committed for the meetings, show up. Sometimes employers sit extra hours and cancel meetings just to meet you. If you can't, email beforehand or excuse for rescheduling. It's better to communicate than to be unresponsive.
Lesson for Employers: Please be quick with your offers. Culture of 1st, second, third interviews make you waste potentially well employees. Don't waste technical candidates' time in HR interviews. Good people aren't available for long.

Here are 5 reasons why.
1. They want to hire a friend or a relative but they "need" to go through the motions of interviewing people.
2. They simply wanted to pump you for information, "free consultation".
3. You were "too good" and the insecure hiring manager saw you as a threat to own position.
4. They wanted someone younger, someone they think they can boss around.
5. They wanted someone with more experience, but they don't realise that it is not the number of years, but their quality that matters.
You know what, in all these cases, they don't deserve you !
The right company will hire you, keep on going !
The purpose of this post is to let you know that just because one is from LUMS, does not mean that you are magically going to land into McKinsey, Nestlé, Unilever or Procter & Gamble.
I was a distinction holder from LUMS who was placed on the Dean's Honor List for a consecutive of 4 years, yet was unemployed at the time of my graduation. I was rejected by all the leading MTO's I applied to, may it be the banking MTO's or the ones hosted by FMCG's. I was also rejected by all the lateral hiring opportunities that I interviewed for.
The first job I got was for a design studio which paid me only Rs. 23,000/month and I did not hesitate taking that job because every place offers a different learning experience and a new opportunity.
Being a LUMS graduate has nothing to do with getting a job in the leading brands. What matters the most is your skill set and work ethics

So many times companies lose good employees because of an inflexible checklist. There’s no “perfect” candidate. We are all human and life happens. The main focus should be if the candidate has the right skills and attitude to get the job done. Sometimes you just have to take a chance on someone. Instead of focusing on disqualifiers, let’s focus on qualifiers. Focus on what value a person can bring.
Never spoon-feed your employees : Telling an employee what to do, and expecting it done is easy. But you suppress the creativity of the person, and you miss out the chance of his best expertise due to that. You don't want an organization of followers, and expect them to find you for every little problem that comes their way. You don't want all the liability of every deliverable goes back on to your shoulder, or worry every minute of every day if your team is performing in their roles as they should.
Let them create, everyday.
We hire smart people, so we can leverage on them. We hire people with expertise, experience and network so they can create our solutions to what we want to achieve, by managing the way we get introduced into their network, tap their expertise or learn from their experiences. By allowing them to lead the way to what they can offer us, is how we can get the best of every single person who have step foot into our organization.
Don't just groom employees, groom them to be effective creative thinkers. Most of your future problems will get solved even before these problems get to you.

If you unnecessarily insulting / misbehaving with your Subordinates, Peons, Janitorial Staff, Security Guards, Telephone Operator, Receptionist or any one else just because you have an influential position in a company, than you need to go back to your parents to find out what went wrong in your Brought-up.
INTERVIEWER: You are selected. Since you are out of job for 18 months we will hire you on 50% of your last drawn salary. We hope it is OK for you... Right?
CANDIDATE: No problem. but just one query. Suppose your company had to close down for 18 months due to flood or earthquake or fire or strike or financial issues or any reason whatsoever.
Then later on if you are able to resume operations, will you sell your products at 50% discount of the market rate?
LESSON: Pay for the Skill, talent, Not for the person or period ( Exp ) he worked .

Agency: " Sir, we found 3 candidates as per your requirements. How do you want their placements, sir?"
MD: "Put about 100 bricks in a closed room. Then send the candidates into the room and close the door, leave them alone and come back after a few hours and analyse the situation:
1. If they are counting the bricks, put them in Accounts department.
2. If they are recounting the bricks, put them in Auditing.
3. If they messed up the whole room with the bricks, put them in Engineering.
4. If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order, put them in Planning.
5. If they are throwing the bricks at each other, put them in Operations.
6. If they are sleeping, put them in Security.
7. If they broke the bricks into pieces, put them in Information Technology.
8. If they are sitting idle, put them in Human Resources.
9. If they say they have tried different combinations yet not a single brick has been moved, put them in Sales.
10. If they have already left for the day, Put them in Marketing.
11. If they are staring out of the window, put them in Strategic Planning.
And..
12. If they are talking to each other and not a single brick has been touched, Congratulate them and put them in Top Management.
Looks like you are frustrated right now. HR and interviewees get frustrated when after many interviews, noone is selected. Their are multiple reasons for that.
Look at what is at stake on other side of the table. The interviewer has to assess an individual in a short span of time for his capabilities and authenticity of what is written in CV. If an incompetent individual is selected (God forbid) the interviewer is held responsible that he cannot assess the right individual.
In many companies, HR shortlists the candidates based on what is on their CV and throws them in front of interviewer without any verification. This is not fair for bother interviewer and interviewee.
The candidates put every skill on their CVs that they have come across on internet. To all candidates, I advise them to be honest on their profile and CV. It may generate less interview calls. But it will also mean less failed interviews.
A word of advice for Interviwers at the end. Test the candidate and ask the questions to assess the candidate for job at hand. Make the candidate feel comfortable during interview. Do not test the candidate for what you have recently read on internet. Test the candidate only for that job that he has applied for.
Headhunter for the Insurance Industry. Life, Health, P&C companies retain me to recruit their senior leadership teams.
ME: I’m sorry. The candidate just accepted an offer from another firm.
CLIENT: What?! You told us she loved us, that she wanted to work for us.
ME: She did.
CLIENT: We’re #1 in our space, you said she liked that.
ME: She did.
CLIENT: You said she liked the team, that she thought she would fit in here.
ME: She did.
CLIENT: I don’t understand, we were thinking about making her an offer.
Yes. And while you were THINKING Your competition was ACTING. While you waited three weeks to get that last business partner to meet with her… Your competition flew her in to meet the key players and had her do a video call with the business partners who weren’t available. While you sat on the knowledge that she was interviewing elsewhere… Your competition made things happen and sped up the process. While you waited a month to get a few more people into the mix for "comparison"... Your competition recognized top talent and made the call. While you debated with HR over salary requirements and asked her for her history… They put out an offer at the top end of their range to ensure the deal was done.
If you want the top talent, you need to be thoughtful, yes. But you need to be decisive. I promise you, your competition is.

Don't just Quit your job the moment someone offers you a better salary. Research for new boss, the people and the culture. No amount of money can compensate for a toxic work culture. the truth is, the grass is not always greener on the other side.
I learned this the hard way, if an organisation has a high turnover rate or there are always vacancies for the same position. Beware
"People don't quit companies. They quit toxic work cultures."

HR Metrics is definitely an imperative ingredient of Organization Development, as it calculates the impact of Human Resource Activities performed on the performance of business. In other words, you may call it cost benefit analysis of HR. Since, HR means Human Resource or people; hence here an HR Operational Manager analyses the cost and benefits of people attribute of the entity/business. For instance, calculation of the number of people at various stages of hiring, training impact, labor law compliance, employees satisfaction rate, etc.
In a crux HR or Human Resource Metrics supplies us the data that supports us in gauging impact of HR activities on the business. By performing the various HR activities; are we getting the viable business results or not? Shall we continue with these activities or should stop and change the direction.
There are seven most common HR Metrics applicable to any sort or scale of business. These are therefore known as Key HR Metrics. I will briefly describe these here. The calculation details, I will try to share through a table:
Revenue per Employee: This figure helps us in governing the value of employee for the business. Ideally on average, the employees should generate ample revenue.

I only lived 22 years. My 23rd birthday was exactly two weeks away. I always imagined I would live long. At least until age 60. It just wasn’t imaginable that I would have such a sudden, unexpected death. I had graduated from University last year with a degree that means absolutely nothing right now.
Shortly after, I landed a job as the marketing director of a major clothing company. Aside from the usual life problems, I was living a normal life. My girlfriend of 4 years was starting to pressure me into us getting a place together. I knew I wasn’t supposed to have a girlfriend in the first place but I enjoyed her company and friendship. I wasn’t ready to give that up. I used to always tell myself that eventually I would marry her. Plus, what would these few years of living a sinful life mean by the time I got older?
My job, girlfriend and life-long friends took up the majority of my time. It seemed I never had time to offer salah. I hardly even had time to sit down and eat. Offering salah was always something that continuously bugged me. The more I postponed my salahs, the more it irritated me. I did give an effort to keep up on my salahs. But for the last two years of my life I gave up. I pretty much stopped making salah altogether. I never made it home in time to make salah that day. Saw 3 was a walk through the rose garden compared to what I was about to experience. I was doing 85 on the 10 freeway. At 12 midnight, 85 mph is not considered speeding. Omar flipped through FM radio stations searching for a song he liked. Malik had fallen asleep in the back seat. I began to doze off too.
I used to hate when that happened. I shook out of what seemed like a 10 second snooze. I tried to keep my eyes open. But again I dozed off. Omar screamed, ‘HEY! It was too late. The car struck the center divider and spun back into the flow of traffic. An oncoming car hit my door. That car was also hit by another vehicle. We finally came to a halt somewhere in the middle of the freeway, a hundred yards from the spot of the collision. I didn’t feel any pain. I was just dizzy, I heard Omar and Malik moaning as good civilians tried pulling us from the wreck.
I wasn’t rescued until the fire fighters arrived. It was quite a task recovering my battered body from my totaled car. Breathing became difficult. The fire fighters huddled around me and frantically applied device after device. ‘He’s not gonna make it,’ I heard one of them say. I ‘m not gonna make it? How? I didn’t feel like I was dying. I felt nothing. My heart started pounding. I was soaked in sweat and blood. I saw Malik standing over the top of me with tears in his eyes. ‘Don’t quit on me’, he told me. At that time I knew it was over. I started to cry. The fire fighters moved him away as they made last attempts to revive me. I died. An angel came to me and removed my soul. I watched him fly away with it in disbelief. ‘How could you? I’m not even 27,’ I pleaded. ‘It’s time,’ he told me and left.
Two minutes later they pulled a white sheet over me. Omar and Malik, apparently doing better than me, pulled the sheet back to look at me one last time. They cried their eyeballs out, I had known then over since I was 13 years old and had never seen either one cry. It was a depressing sight.
The ride to the morgue, until then, was the worst experience I ever had. I was alone. It was dark and cold. I missed my mom. I missed my brother. I missed my sister. I wished I had spent that last night with my family instead of with Omar and Malik. I worried what my mother was going to do when she saw me in this state. I was ugly. When we finally arrived, I was placed in another cold room with dozens of other dead people. I missed my family so much. Every so often a family came in to view their dead. I always thought it was my family but it wasn’t. Hour after hour passed. No mom. No dad. I started to cry again. Then one odd hour I recognised voices. My father walked in with my mother in his arms. His face worn from stress. Hers wet with tears. They just stared into my eyes and cried. I stared back.
I wanted to tell them I loved them. I couldn’t. I wanted to hug them. I couldn’t. Mom stroked my bloodied hair and left.
I was to be buried the next day. When my parents left, it hit me. I never made Isha! My heart jumped out of my chest. I owed Allah a salah and failed to deliver it to him. I had hundreds of missed salahs over the past two years. Now I was about to face him. I felt powerless. For those of you who have never experienced guilt at death, there is not a worldly feeling that amounts to it. It is guilt and sorrow at another level. I tried getting up to make Isha but I couldn’t move. It was over. I had no second chance.
Then I began to think back. I never knew my memory was so good. I had more than enough time to ponder as I was awaiting my burial. I literally remembered every single salah I missed and the reasons why I missed them. Most were laziness, procrastination and neglectfulness. I knew I was in trouble. I wished they would take longer to bury me.
I failed! I failed! I failed!
My girlfriend paid me a visit. She was a devil. When I was alive I saw her as a pretty angel. My pretty angel who loved me and would do anything to make me happy. If I had the ability, I would have cursed her and demanded her to leave the morgue. She put her hand on my forehead. I allowed her to do that for that past four years. Now that I opposed to it, I could do nothing about it. The devil cried for hours at my side. She just would not leave. I felt cheated. I felt like she pulled a prank on me for the past couple years of my life. I hated this devil! She was ugly! She smelled horrible! She finally left. As she walked out the door my heart was filled with fear and anxiety.
The funeral was simple. My body was washed. I didn’t seem to care that my naked body was exposed. My worries far surpassed my desire to be modest. I was wrapped in three white sheets. About 300 people attended my funeral. I was saddened not to see my mom at the funeral. I wished she came to see me one last time before they put me in the
ground. I never knew so many people cared about me. Many just stared at the tightly wrapped figure in disbelief. Others cried and cried some more.
The mass prayed for me. Thousands of individual prayers were made. They asked Allah to have mercy on me. They asked him to forgive me. I wanted to pray for myself but I couldn’t speak. I was helpless. I was carried to the hole in the middle of the barren desert. The people followed. It seemed like slow motion. I didn’t want to go. If I had 24 bonus hours I would pray non-stop. They lowered me into the ground. The anticipation was eating away at me. I had surely failed life. I thought back on everything I had worked so hard to accomplish. I earned a college degree. I had a well paying job. I spent hours and hours in the weight room ever since I was 16 years olddeveloping my body. I had a pretty girlfriend who loved me. In that life, that was a badge of honor. But as they were lowering me into this grave, which seemed like it took forever, I realized that I couldn’t use any of those ‘accomplishments’. If only I had been that dedicated to making salah five times daily, I would have been at peace right now. Instead I am a nervous wreck beyond anything you all can comprehend.
Dirt fell in the hole. Darkness overcame my new home. The last shovels of sand filled the grave. Everyone sadly walked away. The graveyard started to empty. Family by family. Mine was the last to leave. The attendant left. By nightfall it was just me. All alone. My wrapping was soaked in sweat. I nervously awaited the angels to come and question me.
My only wish right now is to make one more Sujood, and prostrate to the Al Mighty ALLAH and ask Him to forgive my sins, but it is too late!
I still remember in my whole #career, I never missed an interview. People should appear in the #interviews in which they are scheduled, least they can get from there is #experience without any cost.
